Yeah, the sun doesn't come out much over there.

Tell me about it - I haven't been able to wash the 968 since Christmas. It's annoying me just thinking about the brake dust gnawing away at my (formerly) nice wheels

Talking

When I bought my car, the picture on the advert made the colour seem a sort of dull navy blue - was I in for a shock when I went to view the car on a very bright summers day! It looked so vivid, I was almost put off by how 'in your face' it was. However after a couple of minutes looking round the car I started to really like it and saw that it was something special
Makes the rare bright days over here even better when I look outside and see it on the drive

Its a cobalt owner thing! Our paint shows too many shades! I love cobalt at night, it takes on a great shade of navy. I also love it in direct white light, turns purple!

Hi Phil,
I know there have already been a few S2's offered here, but if you are still looking I have a 1990 krystal silver S2, in good condition still in complete original spec, and I would be very interested to get involved with this feature.

It's got an immaculate burgundy half leather/ pinstripe interior, original Design 90 wheels, even the clock (most of the display anyway) still works.

I live in the South Warwickshire area, so could meet up easily with you.

Get in touch if you are interested!

Rich

That's it for the blues: Baltic, Cobalt, Tahoe, and mine - Glacier, which is basically a bluey silver:

Generally in the UK metallics are popular. White is really bad news here now and acutally devalues the car. Silver is a really, really popular choice on new cars and has been for a few years now, but gold /champagne isn't so popular.

BTW a US spec S2 would be wrong because of the steering, bumpers, running lights and the battery would be in the front - on RHD S2's it's in the back. Most UK S2's (maybe all?) have no airbags and A/C was a rare option as well.

Fen, where is the battery located in the RHD 944 S2 cabriolets?

I think normally it's placed in one of the rear 'cubbies', so I don't see why you couldn't do that as well on a cab (the cubbies are there, just not as easily accessed.

Not sure if you've seen the rear cubbies in a LHD cab, but the right one is rendered useless by a "vibration dampener" which takes up the whole cubby.

If the RHD cabs have the battery in the opposite cubby, then IMHO that leaves the car with no "out of sight" storage space for tools, rags, lubricant, etc. aside from the already limited trunk space. That's why I was curious.

Nope, never seen under the carpet of one. I know it's got the vibration damper on the one side, but didn't know it used up the whole thing.

There's still storage space in the spare tire well though...I can fit quite a few tools in there (especially big ones like the tire iron).

Yes, but the spare tire well doesn't just flip open like the lids on the cubbies. You need to unsnap the rear deck carpeting every time.

Can you tell us what color car?
I'm hoping for Baltic Blue for obvious reasons.
