Default The Wax Battle continues...

http://www.nsxsc.com/nsexcitement/waxtest.html

This may or may not be old news but I heard people talking about this test so I went and looked for it and I don't think many people really read the review. The cheap zymol wax in there is the same as the Natural Cleaner wax found at Walmart, K-mart, Etc... Just goes to prove some critics wrong about the zymol product bottled by Turtlewax. Finished with a close tie to Zaino in every test and crushed Meguiers in lasting quatlitys...

Score one for cheap Zymol

That's not the same Zymol found in Kmart is it? It looks like the real Zymol.

I don't think 3m imperial hand glaze is a wax. It removes wax buildup and fine scratches. You need to wax over it afterwards. That said, 3m hand glaze, then a thick coat of good wax, is a great combo especially on a dark car.

I use Zaino or Zymol, depending on car - the 944 gets the cheap stuff (Zymol).

Ive tried all of the above, and I like Zaino/Zymol but prefer P21S wax/polish. It does an amazing job really easily. .02

I think a clay bar every couple of waxes really helped me, regardless of which wax I have been using. But Zymol usually stands out compared to others. Haven't tried Zaino yet, haven't had the need to.

The author of the test says that Zaino wins hands down (although looking at his results would indicate the Zymol finished a lot closer).

It's been a long time since I've used Zymol but I tried the Zaino recently. It lives up to the hype and actually does do a good job of repelling dust (important with a black car).

Just another data point.

Have not tried the above mentioned waxes. But so far Blitz did the trick for me.

Thanks for the article......

I have been using the Zano stuff on my dads 911 (I go home to wax it for him every 4 months) and it looks great.

But that said I feel the zymol is easier to work with and produces a great finish. I have tried just about every wax on the planet because I ran a small buisness when I was in high school waxing cars. (and i'm thinking of doing it again and expanding it out to wet sanding / polishg / waxing etc.....)

But anyway Zymol and PS2 are some of the best products I have used from a wax point of view and the Griots Garage polishes are some of the best on the planet as well. The whole combo goes a long way to bring a deep rich shine out.

When my 951 comes out of hiding i'm going to give it a good three days to bring out the shine...

Day 1) Wet sand / Polish

Day 2) Polish polish polish ? Clay Bar

Day 3) Zaino........
