COMBAT BOOTS - Im not even kidding, but these are fully leather, very narrow, and so worn down (less than 1/2 an inch) that they are more flexable than my running shoes. They remind me of my friends simpson race boots, almost the same feel. Plus they give great ankle support and look sweet.

Pilotis are neat for driving, but if you need to get out and actually walk somewhere...

My favorites have always been gummy Vans - currently have the "Dwayne" which is great - low width print, light suede, good ventilation, eraser sole. Gnarly, bro - Off the hook!

I've got a pair of GeForce Racing SFI rated Nomex shoes. Quite nice. However, I find them jsut a little bit too narrow.

I like the G-Force, but make sure you order them one size larger than your regular shoe.

I bought a pair of Polo Driving Mocs that I haven't had the chance to even try yet. Got em on sale for like $40 (regularly $150). They have rubber strips running from the bottom to the back of the heel...to make shifting easier, I guess.

Nothing WORSE than driving in Timberland snow boots!

I agree, with the pilotis, i always switch shoes when im done driving. Too thin to actually expect them to last if you walk around with them.

I also have driven barefoot, and i like it a lot. Its a little hard to heel-and-toe though. Whats REALLY hard to drive with is cowboy boots! I wear them semi-often and it seems i can only successfully heel&toe if i brake harder than usual or my toes slip between the pedals when i rotate my foot. Its better on the Porsche, but the GTI pedals are tiny!!! I never recommend anyone drive track with cowboy boots! Its hard enough on the street!

I drive in whatever shoes I have on at the time... Actually a nice pair of dress shoes with a thin leather sole aren't bad at all... The problem in getting in and out of the sports seats while wearing a suit!

The problem is getting out a sports car with bright blue and yellow Pilotis! Taking off your gloves and hat, switching shoes, and then putting your coat back on. People are like ....uh...

yeah seb, you're nuts for driving in flip-flops... driving barefoot is better, or maybe its just me who has somewhat of a problem with managing to drive in them. anyhow, get a good pair of driving shoes, my old pair of vans (r.i.p. due to roofing the house) were the best, time to wear in a new pair...

I wear Simpson (http://www.teamsimpson.com/catalog/shoes/shoemain.asp) in the race car, Vans or Airwalks in the street car. I would think there's a Simpson outlet of some sort in FL. Personally, I am just as content to wear the skate shoes most of the time - definately for indoor karting or Autoxing.
