For racing in wear spraco pumas, but as some other stated they a not too good for walking around in. For street driving I found a set of Nike's that are very similar to the Van's shoe skip spoke of. Canvas uppers with moderate thin sole. I tired convers all-starts, but had two problems. 1) Still to thin for comforatable walking and 2) No style. At least the ones I have look normal enough for regular use.

Its illegal in several states I believe to drive barefoot.

I drive in whatever shoes I have on when I grab the keys. I have a driving shirt though. Special neoprene on the arms to facilitate perfect and precise shifting. Im kidding. Or am I.

Quite illegal to drive barefoot in many states.

I have some Simpson driving shoes myself that I've driven race cars and karts in and they are great to drive in a street car with. Not too bad for walking on some gravels and such as I've done dirt track kart racing with them, either. High top with velcro up top and lace up for the rest. Got matching gloves as well
