How old were you when your Porsche was new?
Assuming you own some form of the 944 line, the day your Porsche rolled out of the dealer's lot, how old were you and what were you doing?
Mine:
August, 1983 944.
I was 15, sophomore in High School. Saw the 944 in a fold out ad in TIME magazine the year before and was mesmerized by it's flares.
August, 1990 944S2 cabriolet.
I was 22, going to college. That summer I visited the Ferrari museum in Maranello, Italy. Last thing I imagined was that I would ever own a Porsche.
August, 1991 951 cabriolet
This car was sold new in 1992, when I was 24. It was the Summer Olympics in Barcelona and my daily driver was a 75 cc Honda Scooter.

1987 951 - I was 20, in College, probably dreaming of someday owning a Porsche
1991 964 - I was 28 still dreaming of owing a Porsche someday
1997 993 - I was 30 all dreams ended. I was finally the owner of a sweet machine... I drove the heck out of these cars (initially a Guards Red that I later changed for a Vesuvius... boy do I miss that car...)
The rest, as they say, is history....

I was 23 and in my last year of a 3 year sabatical from college. God how I lusted after a 944 from the very first photo I ever saw of one. They still stir me. I thought a number of times of buying a used one, but for one reason or another never did.
Now I own one. My first Porsche is also going to be my first race car. And now I'm thinking of getting a road version. Well, once my other car projects are done.

All these kids and thier Porsches. 2 years old..... damn.
I was 18 when my 951 was born. I was reading every issue of Road and Track I could just to drool over these cars.
I remember being in the high school cafeteria debating that the 951 was a better car than the 911 according to the newest magazine.
That was 1987.
