Default Free SoCal Test Drives!

Whoo Hoo,
GM is sponsoring test drives in a large selection of car this week at the 'Q'. Good chance to try out a Vette. Try: http://www.autoshowinmotion.com

Cousin and step brother did that at Hanscom AFB in Mass.

Said the surprising thing was not many people wanted to drive the Vettes, so they got to drive them a few times. Depending on your "guide" they'll actually tell you to really drive the hell out of them.

Also even fewer people wanted to drive the standards. So if you work it right you might get a fair amount of time behind the wheel.

Sid -

When did you brother and step brother do this? Is GM going to do it again? Do you have to be 18? I would really like the chance to drive a Vette, simply because everyone says there a great car, but from sitting in them i dont really get it. Thanks.

My dad and i will go to this this weekend at the Q... I always get invited to these things, and end up taking my father with me so at least one of us can drive.... You aren't allowed to drive unless you are 21, i am 20, so yeah... I have been invited to this one, Rev it up (which i did drive, up in LA), the Volvo S60R thing, the Porsche Cayenne thing, Mercedes C Spot, and something put on by Ford... At least my dad gets to drive... plus i ususally get free sh*t regardless...

Cheers,
Jonas

The mazda thing could be so much better, they should use the Protoge or 3 instead of the 6. Also during the "learner" courses you can't push the car... I got two warnings for screeching the tires during the learner courses... You can only go ***** out during the actual competitions.

The Volvo S-60R thing was cool, they fed you quality food, and had this awesome demonstration of the car over inclined rollers, never saw that kind of traction before... also the drivers/instructors were much better, they let you really push the car. Too bad I finished 3rd behind som Quattro guys, I wanted that RC car from the Volvo thing. Hmm if only I had 40k, I'd ditch all my other Volvos for the 60R, what a ride.
