I will probably be putting one together soon, once my car runs again. I'll organize it better this time too.

Lemme tell you one of a few stories...

In a post or 2 I complianed about my lack of money to fix my car and then a few posts later I try and sell my Barnes and Noble gift card for $20. I get all these joke offers then one member named Roy asks me if I would like paypal or check. I take the paypal and there is $125 sitting there for me (exact cost of that one head)

"Amount: $125.00 USD

Transaction ID: 1SM28696V8788922H

Subject: Happy New Year

Note: Mike,

Get your cylinder head fixed. A few years from now, when you see someone who needs some help, do it.

Have a great New Year.
Roy"

He now has a 5 year rennlist membership and my complete respect for helping out a perfect stranger like that...I offered to return it but he wouldnt listen. A stand up guy!

I've had Rennlsiters send me CD's with different software on it from Finland and the US.. And a UK friend has sent me printed 928 related 928 material...

The big price must be when a fellow Rennlister gave me a running 944.. Now that was cool.

We should get something going, im getting to the point where i'd rather just attend some meeting somewhere, rather than getting the car all fixed up and heading out to Hershey.
That's a great idea, I've been wanting to meet up with 944 owners in So Cal too. To say Rennlist has been an incredibly valuable resource to me would be quite an understatement (just paid for membership).

Yea this really is a group of nice people some not even knowing eachother and doing the right thing. Just only think if the world was just like Rennlist I'm not a member yet but I do post and ask/answer questions. Currently I'm not going to school since college is not an opition to me now so I'm going into to Porsche feild since I bought my 951 I have been doing almost everything from the start when I bought it in July 4th 2000. The car has put me in some debt but I'm working out of that and then I'm going to get it painted/fix the body work (one hit and run and other still working to get a court date) and going to get a membership to this or is I land that job at the Porsche shop which the owner has told me I have the job but he needs to get rid of someone that is a son of his lead guy so it's kinda taking longer. Wow look at me go well I have seen how helpful this board really is and I'll be here for life even if I don't own a Porsche at the time.

One Saturday my old 944 threw the power steering pulley out the bottom, no damage but also no PS. It happened 5 days after I finally got it back on the road after doing my first engine-out re-seal job and 7 days before my first DE. I was panicky. So I posted to the list for anybody who could help me out. Several offers came back and Albert B. was the first so I gave him my address. Tuesday I got a box with like 8 pulleys! It weighed 18 lbs. He and Kelli sent every pulley they though it MIGHT be, just in case I was not clear: PS and alternator/AC, early and late, whatever! All for nothing except shipping, which we took care of afterwards. And that's just the first story I have of how great rennlist is! I'm sure we could fill a book with other stories like this.

Like it is said in Porschefig's sig.
"its not about the cars its about the people"

Enough said, we all share one thing in common, The love for Porsche. (and we're all fun loving good looking level headed great people )

Cory hit on it.. I'm not sure if we are 'sick' or gifted with a vision. Are we visionaries or narrowminded? There are Camaro drivers (I'm sorry, ...Mullets) that feel the same way about their machines as we do about ours. Who's to say we are in the right? I don't know about that but I do know this here's the place with a whole lot of folks who think like me.
I've been gifted with resources and information that allowed me to get a special machine like the 944, but I was somewhat alone. Sure, I knew a couple other guys with them, but we couldn't cover all the bases. As the regulars on the "Waterboy corner" we are an army, able to conquer any problem our brothers come across, or at least share the info on how to skin that cat... for that cat has been skinned before. Along the way we found friends and all the perks that come with it. I've shared manuals, parts, support, videos, stories and solutions with fellow 'listers. My 'Fest is just a way to put what is digital into flesh and blood. We've stumbled on to a formula that seems to work unbelieveably well.. Take Waterboys from all around the USA, mix in equal parts food, friends, festivities, freebies and a pile of four fours, it all boils up to one hell of a good time. Without Rennlist it would just be a few good friends. This place has created a legend, which is the highest status (that I know of) a party could be. It is an honor to hold the torch!

Hey Dan

If I bring my 944 out to 944fest, can we do a clutch job tech session on it.

I've said it before, but I'll repeat it: Rennlist is to me what I was hoping the PCA would be. Social events, tech sessions and knuckle-busting wrenching days all from meeting on an internet bulletin board. To say nothing of the daily blathering we get away with.
