Need help with timing belt install-Boston area.
Picked up an 86 951 with 158k on her and is in great shape. Bought a complete belts/water pump/seals kit and need some help getting it in. Any local guys who may have the tools interested? Will pay in $/food/beer and have a ton of tools/jack stands & jack. Anyone interested -shoot me an email. Located in Marshfield. Thx

Have done a few Audi 1.8T belts in the past but this is my first Porsche and don't want to screw it up before I drive it. Been sitting for 9 years in East Hartford - runs and drives great!

There's also South Shore Autoworks in Kingston. They're a great shop with lots of 944/928 expertise and right off Rte 3 (Exit 8). One of their techs (Andy) has over 30 yrs massaging our transaxle cars back to life.

Nice find.. new fuel lines! My buddy in Ottawa has the identical version--same colour, year, Fuchs wheels. Those rims are fantastic
EDIT: FWIW.. despite all the hoopla, I find the 944/951 timing belt pretty easy, and I'm no mechanic. Done it twice in ten years of daily driving plus removed belt recently for HG. Plenty of room. If you've done an Audi 1.8, certainly you can do this. The only special tool I bought is the balance shaft / tensioner wrench from Arnworx... http://www.arnnworx.com/catalog/inde...ea516e9c9ff5a2
Actually, the hard part would be changing the front seals, should it be necessary.
