Default Rear Hatch

Does anyone have any ideas on what a second hand 944 rear hatch (glass) should cost ? or what a new one costs.

Here in the states from $50 to $500. How much is the shipping to Oz?

What did you do to yours?

Boy, I bet the shipping down to OZ would be mighty expensive from the States if you didn't have a container to combine with other folks' goods. I'd do a big search of Australia to see if you can find a used one off a parts car.

Then you have to seal the glass to the old frame which has to be done with much care to prevent delamination in the future.

Thanks guys, I will keep looking for a replacement in Australia as shipping such a weighty item would indeed be very costly. Being such a rare marque down here second hand parts are very hard to come by.
Mine is still serviceable but has a couple of holes where some maniac had a couple of ancient car phone antenas installled.

My two cents put some decent looking rubber plugs in em and forget about em .....but if your a man of perfection itll prolly cost you a bit there are a few other guys on the board from australia on the site, they may know of some parts cars somewhere...-good luck-chris

Just a quick example of how hard second hand 944 parts are to find down here, I did a search (Porsche 944) on Australian E-Bay and it returned 4 results, 3 were collectables & 1 was for a watch.
The same search on USA E-Bay returned more that 2700 results for spares alone. you guys are so lucky!!
Cheers

You might try www.v-zweeden.com in the Netherlands. Maybe they could crate one for you and get it on a ship down to OZ...if you can't be satisfied with the plugs.
