Lonely Raven

We had a bit of snow here last night in Chicagoland.

I'm happy to say that after two weeks of me not driving my $1600
924S, that she started up with ease, warmed up nicely, and drove around
the block (a bit wobbly in the rear)!

I'm not sure what the deal is with these "snow tires" that the previous
owner put on the car...man, I thought they were slippery in the rain,
they are hellacious in the snow!!

On a lighter note, I've not been around for a few weeks because I've
taken a temp tech (computer) job. It's only a measly $16 an hour and
about 20 hours a week, but hey, it's keeping the phone and electric on
now that my savings has just about run out.

PLUS! I have an interview tomorrow. The people I'm doing my temp work
for loved my work so much, they are considering me for a full time Help
Desk positoin for someone, somewhere, somehow. I don't know the
details yet, but if it all pans out, I might be back on track to saving up for
a house, and fixing up the 924S and the 914!!

It's sad when the only thing I wish for for Christmass is a temp job that
leads to a full time job, but hey, it's a start. I'm telling ya, I was pretty damn
close to enrolling in a school for mechanics just to get another career
started. My ultimate goal would have been to get a Porsche Tech job at
a dealership so I could put my pride, quality, and attention to detail into
something other then computers. Though I honestly have no idea how
difficult it would be to become a Porsche Mechanic, it sure would beat
being a computer tech laid off every two years because companies fold
or are bought out twice a year!!
