What's up with my brakes?
I have an 89 turbo and when I brake hard at say 30mph the car brakes slowly and I hear a thumpng noise under my car. When I brake slowly they just squeek a little but dont make the thumping noise I'm getting when I brake hard. The pads are broken into (about 6 months old) and the rotors look fine. Any ideas about whats up?

Jack up the car, make sure all the caliper and strut bolts are properly torqued, and maybe bleed the brakes too. Have you done a track day recently? Mine started squealing like **** after a DE.

Argh just took the car off the jacks yesterday, oh well.
Nope no tracking recently, just round the town driving.
It's not the squealing im worried about, but that weird sound and feel I get when I brake hard or slam the brakes. Sounds like there is no vacuum being held.
