Sunset Porsche
...or try your local dealership. Mine matched Sunset and gave me my PCA discount on top.

Sonnen. Always the best price and shipping takes 2-3 days half way across the country.

I am interested in this discussion as well.
Found these interesting pictures in the Porsche Service Manual under "Affordable Alternate to OEM Motor Mounts."
Step One: Locate suitable rolls of $100 bills lying around the house. Choose the two that are packed the tightest. (NOTE: $50s, $20s, & $10s are unsuitable for this application.)
Step Two: Mount cash on metal housing. Use only high strength rubber band. Worn factory mount on right shown for comparison.
Step Three: Mount in position. Repeat on opposite side. Check rubber band for tightness after 5,000 miles.

When I worked at a Chrysler Plymouth dealer as a mechanic I went for training for the then new Omni/Horizon car's. The instructor mention that these 4 cylinder cars will vibrate at idle and this is normal and you need to make the customer understand this. I guess Porsche felt you can't put a price on comfort.

I'll add that whatever you pay for the new mounts, it is worth it because it makes such a huge difference in the feel of the car!! I've done them in both of my 944s and was always shocked at how much better it felt, quieter, smoother, aligned, balanced, dampened or whatever, it was wonderful. I thought it would be good to do a before/after photograph of the oil pan vs cross member alignment so it would be easy for owners to glance at their oil pan and be able to tell if the mounts on their car were collapsed. It can be hard to tell by just looking at the mounts. Sorry for the hijack-

But they only lasted 2 years with the power steering leaking fluid onto them (the passenger one anyway). If I were smart I would've converted to manual steering the first time around as it was cheaper to convert to manual than buying another set of mounts

I can't believe that these mounts are $400 for the pair. Mine have got to be shot, 25yrs old, original. I don't want to spend the $400, probably best to not look at mine too closely.

If someone cares to try solid mounts, I just removed a set of LR units. They can be had cheap. I'm traveling but can throw up some pictures at the end of the weekend. PM if interested.
