Default any appropriate paint shops in Los Angeles area?

looking for a place that will do a good (not show) job on my daughter's 944 - she's had it for about a decade, and there is some body work that is covered by insurance, but the whole car would look better with paint (it's the Champaigne gold color) -we can do the basic prep (e.g. removing all the stuff), it's just that neither of us has the time now to take a week off work and paint the car (Yes, I have the equipment), and the estimates from shops she's tried are on the order of "$17,000" to $25,000, which I interpret as "get your cheap *** car out of my shop and let me get back to this BMW". There must be some good shops that will work with us - preferably on the west side of town.

thanks.

i always laugh when i see people quoting stupid numbers like that for "proper paint"...even $5k, are you ****ing kidding?

William, believe it or not your local MAACO can do a good job. they have multiple levels of paint quality, warranty, prep packages, etc, but even the bells and whistles tops out at about $2k.

i had my 944 done (color change from mahogany brown to 997 Carmona Red metallic, including jambs and dent repair) at MAACO in escondido for ~$1500, turned out great.
i stripped all the seals/trim/lights/glass from the car myself and drove there (driving 75mph is very cold when you have no windows or sunroof).
then i put all the trim back on once finished.

I interpret the high prices as "we don't want to bother with your crappy old car, but if you give us 5 times what the car is worth, sure we will paint it for you, you stupid ***" however most of the honest shops I have talked to say either "no, we don't paint whole cars", or "we can't do it" - hence my inquiry. actually, given how long this has taken, I could have painted it myself, but the car owner (my daughter) doesn't want to do it that way, and it's her choice....
