Default 968 Dash Lights Need Improvement

What is the best way to improve the illumination of the dashboard for a 968. Please provide part numbers and a place I can order.

Few options.....

1) Perry951(?) sells a LED replacement/upgrade for the lights. Not sure if he is still doing this.

2) You can use foil tape on the reflectors. This is cheap and somewhat effective (YMMV). I did this. I can see but it could be brighter.

3) 944online.com sells new instrument cluster housings with new reflectors.

HTH.

944 online has a new part to replace your old one. $99 http://www.944online.com/newparts.asp

But what I did was go to Radio Shack and get 3 LED's a resister and mounted that in the plastic reflector. I have plenty of light.

I stripped the reflective pain off mine, taped aluminum foil over the clear plastic, and used 5W bulbs. This was too bright so I dim them a little.

Make sure you keep those 5 watt bulbs dimmed down. You will melt the plastic if they are going at top output.

Search for threads with Zero 10 as well. He offers an LED conversion for under 50 USD I believe.

Cheers,
Sach

Oh, in pretty colors too ;D
