I know when I registered my 1987 924S, my insurance company had a "High Performance Vehicle" notice printed on the insurance slip... Funnily enough the Cayenne Turbo S and the 928S4 are perfectly normal apparently.

It's another $1600/yr hit on my insurance. My 20 year old son costs me the same thing. The 1987 924S is not anymore expensive to ensure than the 2003 4runner or 2006 cayenne and I have a $5000 value bump due to the restoration on the 1987. Going the vinyl route was the right thing for us. He picked up a small dent scratch from another driver at the gun range (probably a pickup) and we just patched the vinyl for now. Looks better than touch up paint

Almost 1 year since my last post. The car is doing really well. Sadly, we may be selling it soon. My father passed away last week and left behind a 1 owner, last model year 1996 Ford Bronco. My 17 year old has been saving up money for a truck/SUV and is in love with his grandfather's Bronco.

The 924S is not officially for sale, yet. I don't even know pricewise what would be reasonable for a very well sorted (short list of items) 1987 924S.

Thoughts?

Keep the 924S and let him drive the Bronco for awhile...
