make sure to use the right power steering fluid (ATF, Dexron I believe NOT power steering fluid!, should be red)
some delete the power steering, ours ('87 924s) works but leaks from somewhere, doesn't feel heavy to me at all, check tire pressure

Your's looks great. Ours was a wreck, getting there now. The dash caps actually seem to work quite well, we have one, the original dash is a complete mess, the cap is hard to even notice, We have one like this:

Not sure it's the same brand as it came with the car but fit is perfect and fixing existing it is extremely difficult to do well, for $130ish I sure wouldn't bother. FWIW

It's almost like if its *not* leaking there's something weird going on. Thankfully they're not too complex. You can probably top off the fluid (requires Dexron ATF) and get it feeling normal again for a few months and buy you a little bit of time to check it out for real.

Have you compared them side-by-side? I have. The seats are definetly set higher on a 924 and combined with the stock 15in steering wheel which, when turned, causes hands to bump into your legs especially if you’re tall. If you swap to a smaller 14in steering wheel, it obscures the instruments and you find yourself having to constantly move your head to read them. None of those circumstances exist on the later 944. The other major interior problem is that the heating and ventilation is far inferior to a 944.

Next time you get the opportunity to compare them, give it a go and you’ll see what I mean.

The steering wheel IS lower in 924 and 944 series 1 cars. This changed with the 85.5 model (series 2).

It's definitely lower than I'd like - I have a smaller Momo wheel on mine, though, so in my case it's more due to the top part blocking the gauges. It's not that bad, but annoying enough that I am thinking about getting this guy to help with that.
