If only you were closer, I would part with mine for a 931 hood.

Yeah too bad, shipping would cost more than the hood itself.

Christian,

I may know of a hood & hinges in NJ, I have to stop by where it is and check out it's shape, if it's perfect, whats it worth? It's not mine.

It's on an 86.

Hopefully some of you will feel pitty when you hear my story, then get motivated to finding one for me. I was driving down a local highway when I pulled into a gas station. Filled up and checked my oil. (want to make sure im not burning to much after rebuild) Anywho I shut the hood. I notice for some reason it isnt clicking in place. I borrowed a bungee chord from the gas station attendant and hooked it on the latch down and under to the sway bar. As I left I was quite confident in the bungee chord. Unfourtunatly upon passing an 18 wheeler the hood opened up rapidly and smashed my windshield then flew away. It happened so fast I never lost sight of the highway, not for a second. I pulled into the median and walked about a mile down the highway looking for my hood. I found it on the opposite side, and for some reason it had large dual tire marks on it. I dragged it to my car feeling like Joe Pesci from one of his mob movies. Placed it in the hatch and drove home with my head out the window as I couldn't see out the windshield. Upon arriving home my neighbor saw me carrying the hood to the garage and remarked (without first hearing the story mind you) "Wow, llks like it got run over by a truck!"

Windshield will be done tomorrow. However I still need a hood.

Marc, I'll pay 150 to 200 for the hinges plus hood so long as they are straight. I'll also be willing to pick them up.

Had a hood leave the front of my 55 chevy once. Didn't take out the windshield but did put a small dent in the top. Last time I seen it was a big mass of sparks being dragged under the truck that ran over it. I got back in my car and split.

I had the same kind of nightmare on a smaller scale. Cruising on the highway in my brother's RX-7. The sunroof had been previously broken when someone stole his stereo, so it was duck taped in place. Tape was old and peeling and a gust of air hit the car just right popping said sunroof into the airstream and whoosh. Discovered it along the side of the road bent in half like a taco!

SoCal - I had the wheel come off a 57 Chevy while running a 1/4 mile (11 Sec BTW! before the wheel came off that is, never was that fast again), anyhow, frame on the ground, fender flies off into crowd, can you say SCARY? Way not cool, the fender BTW was fine, bolted right back on.

I still can't get over the fact that the hood opened, broke the hinges, smashed the windshield and flew away so quick I didnt even see it happen.
