That is an excellent deal on a SC, if the PPI checks out, jump on it. $7200 is territory for an early T driver, I'm 911 shopping and I've rarely seen decent SCs for under $10k. Buy it!

Go for the 911. MY dad had a 78 911 and my 944 does not even compare to it. It is probably going to be a little more money for repairs and parts but it will be well worth it if you are a true enthusiast. Good luck with your choice.

doesn't matter how much you like it or how attatched you are, get the 911, sell the 944. If you don't want to .. I will I don't see why you'd get flamed for being young if you're not stupid.

Guys, you all are letting me down! I figured there would be 100 "sell the NA for 6000 and get a good 951 for a little more!" responses by the time I got to this. Come on!

Oh yeah... sell the NA for that kind of money and get a 951.

That is a great price for the 911 if it's mechanically sound. If you can get $6K for your NA, do it. The 911 will hold it's value better. You can always sell it for as much or more than you paid for it further on down the road. Then you could get a 951.

$6K will get you a 951 that will give you headaches.

Have you even driven the 911 yet? That may or may not be the deciding factor. It's very different from your 944.

Yieldsign2, is there a link to that '80 SC in RI? I may want to check that out.

I'll second Ken's question. You better drive a 911 of that vintage first before you decide to sell the 944.....

I second the above opinion. I mean what is the world coming to these days? Sure the 911 is a superb sports car and all but this is comparing apples to oranges. The 944 Porsche is second to none. Translated in English: The 911 does not replace the 944, period. Within their own category the 944 is the best. The only sense I see in selling your N/A is to move up to Turbo. Don't sell unless upgrading to Turbo or buying 911 as your second toy.

All Porsches are wonderful and, as a fan of the marque, you should not pass up on opportunities to try new models. I owned my 944 for five years, put well over 100k miles on it, and spent as much on service and maintenance over the years as I did on the car originally. The car looked as good or better when I sold it as it did when I bought it.

But I want(ed) to experience all kinds of Porsches in my lifetime, so in order to move on I had to...well, move on. Do I miss that car? You bet. Am I sorry I sold it? Not a bit.

(Well, ok, maybe a little. But that's only because the guy who bought it from me rolled on I-275 a month after buying it... )

If the car is good...go for it. If you don't like it, try another. ..and another. ..and another...
