944 cambelt auto tensioner tool dimensions
Does anyone have the size(diameter) of the pins that engage into the auto tensioner for the cambelt? . Also useful would be the diameter(PCD) on which the pins lie.
I can then make up a lever with the pins in the correct place to compress the springs
It may be possible to use 2 drill bits and a long pry bar but prefer to make a tool

dont know about sizing but i have a balance-shaft wrench from another MFR (dont think it was arnnworx) with only one pair of pins and it has always worked fine for both balance gears and the 87+ tensioner.

This tool is designed to work in two places; 1) to hold the balance shaft cogs, so that they can be removed/installed. And, 2) on 87 - 88 model years, to retract the cam belt spring tensioner. Those two locations have need for different sized pins but the original tool used a single set of small pins. These small pins often broke making the tool useless. Our design uses two sets of pins to address this problem. The larger pins for the balance belt cogs and the smaller pins for the spring tensioner.

ok no need for any special tools.Torque to compress spring is small.2 allen keys the right diameter and a long screwdriver between the two keys
Any care points when setting tension ,it is a used belt?
1. Soft contact when releasing spring
2. Move Cam sprocket 1.5 teeth anticlockwise
3.Squeeze belt against cover? PNA Tech bulletin
Any further tips appreciated
