I went with the longer ones on my 83 and the passenger side gets caught under the hood when it (the hood) is closed, blowing the fuse . . . I am going to 1" smaller on that side . . .

I don't use Rain-X on the windshield...I've always found it causes the rain drops to splatter, creating mini-drops--and you have to use the wiper anyway. I definately like it for the side windows and rear hatch glass!

I'll see if the arms are not locked down tight enough...

Dave--you saving weight by using smaller wipers!?

The store I was in was out of 18s, I wasn't sure if larger would be OK so I erred on the size of caution and went a size smaller. I don't even notice the difference, the view to the left is unchanged, I still see the same amount of hood at the bottom and the top and right side aren't changed enough to matter. I guess the reduced weight and drag are just icing on the cake Besides, I don't do much driving if bad weather, 3-4K miles a year, maybe 5% in rain or snow. I use the same logic to avoid a headlight upgrade, I only drive <300 miles/year with the lights on, and that's only 3 or 4 miles at a time, the cost per mile just isn't worth it.

I see your point. In the winter, if I drive the car once or twice a week I'm lucky! And I don't plan to drive in bad weather. But, rain happens! Nothing annoys me more than poor vision in the rain! Well, that, and leaks!

It's supposed to rain/snow tomorrow and Saturday...meaning I wont be able to WASH the poor car AGAIN. Blah....

Please don't be offended by this, but will you just relax and enjoy the drive already! You can take it to a nice hand wash place once the roads are clear

I got stuck in my 911 in the slop the other day, they salted the roads to death so I spent my lunch at the do it yourself car wash yesterday freezing my **** off getting the salt off the car so I can store it till the end of winter.
It was so cold the water was freezing on the car!

I'm obviously a moron!

I get my 951 back today with the winter tires and new Koni Yellows and SSI ball joints installed! woo hoo! bring on the slop!

I thought Rutt Hutt's was the last drive for the 911 Marc?? I guess the 951 mods forced you to drive it again?

Yeah, I had a GM loaner from my friends for a while (Nice Caddy CTS!) but I gave that back since they were low on cars, Drove the 911 since Monday this week, The weather seems nice so I drove it.
With this weekends weather, the 911 is done for the year.

Marc - sorry to hear about your 911 in the snow - it might break your heart to know I'm trying to buy a 911 FOR the snow - a rather beat-up C4. Tempted to rally it if I can!

As for the wipers - AndyK - I'm running 19's with no problems.

RK

PS. I miss the Hutt every day!

mine are 18's and chattered a lot before the motor crapped out. I removed and cleaned/lubed the motor and that helped lots.

you've prolly already seen this:

I've got 18's on mine, and they are very low profile, yet on the highway, they don't even touch the windshield. How do I restore proper function? Pull them off and wd-40 the spring?

I've got some Bosch blades (19") which have little 'spoilers' attached. This presses the blade against the screen at speed

Not at all, I would have a ball in a C4 for the snow!
