Help Find Thread plz
I have been searching the archives and i cant find the thread i remeber seeing when someone made custom sub woofer boxes to fit in the rear wheel wheel compartment under the carpet in the back of their 944/951.
When i get my car i wana try and do this so i was looking for the thread. I dont want a big box in the back because it seems a lil ricy for me, so i want to look into the hiden effect. IF any 1 can find this thread for me plz post link!!
thx,
keith

I remember one a while back where the person made use of the area behind each wheel. Actually i think it was a company that was producing these things, they mounted under the carpet behind each wheel kinda in the wheel well area...is that what youre talking about??

-do u no the name of this company?
and if you do the one from the first thread:
-Does it have to be made of fiberglass? or can it be made from a wooden cabinet?
-How do u wire them? is it going to be a pig project to run wires to the back, through the pannels and such? I dont want them to be exposed in a 1/2 a$$ job.
-Will the woofer be sticking up a little? or will you be able to close to carpeted flap completely as if nothing was there? giving it the full hidden effect.
-IN that thread what were they talking about like filling it with foam and packing peanuts and water? IS this to test it from seeing how much pressure it can take or if it rattles or something?
Thx,
keith
EDIT- Thx sami.. u posted that while i was typing this... I was thinking this whole time that you put 2 boxes in each of the rear wheel wheels, but now looking at those pictures it is one in the spare wheel compartment?
GtG to next class.. ill follow up on this later today.. Thx every 1

KLA industries manufactures both behind the rear wheels and spare tire subs. Click here to see what they have.

Hey Keith:
I couldnt find the thread or company name, but from what i remember the case was made of wood and it was positioned such that the carpet didnt stick up at all...I'll look around a little for the site again...

Actually once i saw those on their website i figured i could make those myself. I havent tried...but i dont see why is would be that hard...?? Its just wood cut to shape and then cut a hole for the speaker you want to put back there...
Although they are a list sponser, so many i should encorage you to spend $120 for each side(without the driver!!)...
Has anyone else made a set like these themselves???
Goodluck
