Skip, that bird haunts me in my dreams, kind of like something I see when I wake up from a long night.

Yea, I agree beaker was a pretty hip muppet, the best muppet movie is muppets from outer space, as far as the bird goes, kinda reminds me of what my g/f looks like when she's grilling me for answers as to my whereabouts the night before.

Looks great... but a suggestion.

For $81, you could have a powdercoating system and enough powder to do every part in your engine bay, and then some.

It is very simple. If you have air and an old oven, you're set. I know a few of you have been sending out parts, so if you plan to do a bunch, get a system. My site has a good amount of info on it, and I can write another tutorial if needed.

Matt ; that looks nice . Am in the middle of building a building for nephew who does this professionally for the ricers and look forward to having him pickup my stuff. Will be doing this to a lot of Fuchs, valve covers , etc etc. . The big ovens are on their way now. he charges about 60.$ to do something like that now and he is swamped.

Brian I saw , but I also know you , and I know what you are capable of. I have seen the same thing happen many times to management personnel who become the fall guy for the idiot above him ,or some so called downsizing, so don't fault yourself. It happens to best of us ,myself included. You stepped in a pile of sh-- , but not to worry ,something better will come out of it when you least expect it. Grind it out, you'll see in the end. Give me a call or e@EG.

The shop I use is overpriced! I knew that going in, they also do great work and do it fast. If you have seen some of my other posts you know that customer service is more important to me than saving 15 bucks. You could get a system but I have no room for a second oven! You also really need a blasting cabinet and a compressor that can move 15 CFM. That is going to be a 7.5 or larger and a few bucks. I have more parts to do, no doubt!

Thanks for the support everyone!

Skip, now give Matt his intake back and play fair, or we'll all have to just go home.

BTW that intake would look cool on the 968 club sport!

Very Nice! Well if this was mine I'd definitely machine the paint off the mating surface.

Peter - if it was paint that would be one thing, it is 5mil PC. I am concerned about having to remove that much material. It is VERY smooth so I am thinking with a gasket it should seal fine. Luckily it is easy to remove the intake so we will find out.

Good points there. As long as the seal is tight enough to hold vacuum you should be OK. Try it and let us know how it worked out.
