Default 951 ride quality

I just bought a 951, the harsh ride on the crappy streets here are enough to make me want to get rid of it. any suggestions on making it ride a little better

If it's stock it shouldn't be to bad. With softer suspension you take the performance out of the car.

yeah dude, you bought a high end sports car...and no sports cars were meant for a soft, smooth ride. Its a SPORTS CAR! not to sound rash or anything..but if you want a smooth ride...and a sporty type car...get a modern day "sports" car like a new firebird or something...

Harsh ride goes hand in hand with sports cars. Also varies from person to person, some dont mind harshness, some cant stand it. I personally detest soft mushy suspension.

Take it easy guys, it could actually be something wrong with the suspension. Or maybe it's setup in a hard way. Check if it's stock stuff on it first, maybe the springs have cracked and the shocks are shot?

What car did you have before this 951? Can you specify what you mean?

Do you know if there has been any suspension modifications done to the car?

For comparison I had a 240z datsun with a chevy 327. I was using 250 lb springs with koni shocks.

It was very firm but did not jar the car and was very tight.
My car feels like there is no suspension just solid struts.

I'm starting to think either the springs are way too stiff, or someone cut them as the car sits very low (first 951 so don't have anything to compare it to though) or the struts are shot.

I'm basically looking for the same kind of ride I had in the v8 z.

Some years come with adjustable suspension and it will greatly affect your ride comfort (personal experience here). I personally agree that with rough roads these can be brutal but it so pays off after your first corner!!!

Details about your car would be helpful. Are the wheels the stock size?
