Need Alignment Shop in Atlanta GA
Well I am about to get new Yoko ES100’s for my 951 Thread here and would like to get tires mounted and balanced as well as get an alignment. It does not have to be the same place although that would make it more convenient. I would like a shop that does competent work, is low priced, and will let me watch them do the work.
In Augusta I used NTB (now Sears Auto) and they always did a good job with my VW’s and would let me stand around the car and say “no not that bolt, that one over there adjust camber” and such. The shop does not need to be a Porsche specialist that charges $200 for an alignment, I just want a competent shop that can do a laser alignment for under $100 bucks and have a 6 month or so warranty.
Also what alignment specs should I use for my car? It is an 86 951 with stock power and the tires will be 225/50-R16 up front and 245/45-R16 in the rear. The factory manual list:
Front Axle
Toe - unpressed +10’ +- 5’
Toe difference angle at 20 deg. steering lock –40’ to –1 deg 50’
Camber -20’+-15’
Caster 2 deg 30’ + 30’ – 15’
Rear Axle
Toe (each wheel) 0 deg +- 5’
Camber –25’ +- 30’ (-1 deg +- 20’)
Are these acceptable settings or does anyone have any recommendations for better street settings?
