Default my boost levels

Wanting to compare peoples boost levels to my own???

Here is my readings.

My car:
1986 951 88,000 miles
Guru Chip Kit + Reliaboost
Test Pipe
55lb injectors

The boost levels:
at idel = negative 10lbs
full acceleration in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear = 16lbs to 17lbs but falls off slightly at higher RPM
full acceleration in 4th & 5th = 20lbs holds all the way up the RPM level

Anyone like to comment and share their readings????

I am getting just a hair less than 18 in. hg. (8.75psi) at idle when warm (new vac lines). My boost seems to be at 14 psi in 1st, 15 in 2nd, then just over 15 psi in the rest of the gears. Are you using pump gas?

Yes, super plus pump gas.

So your numbers are not too far off mine.

Do you have any other mods over what I have???

I'd love to get more boost with the lower gears... maybe there's something weird going on with my engine, or maybe I should just get the damn test pipe ...

LBE, Guru chips, MAP -> ~12psi first, ~15psi second, bit more in third and finally fourth gear hits 18 psi...

Test pipe = Super loud. I just put on an SFR testpipe and cat back. Its way loud, sounds like a harley. Don't get me wrong I love the sound but for a stedy diet it's a bit much. I'm mid install on a Super charger so I'm sure there will be more Db coming.

I think the turbo quiets her down some. I have very few mods, just an lbe and autothority chips. I'm going to install a test pipe and catback next.

I get -15psi on vaccum at idle (10psi when cold) and I have my reliaboost set to 15psi in 4th, 16psi is 5th. Why is my vaccum so much lower than everyone else?

Maybe some minor vac leaks? You mean inches of mercury, not psi, right?

I don't really know what mine is...I usually hit about halfway on my boost gauge at about 3000 rpm's...no matter what gear I am in...

Non shimmed wastegate and boost controller?
I think you really can benefit from a shimmed wastegate and turning the boost controller down.

Correct! I do have some suitable shims laying around here, I just haven't gotten around to installing them... the idea of having to get the wastegate off is too frightening

Hehe I know what you're talking about.. I friend of mine broke 3 studs in the wastegate when he removed it. It was not cheap to fix!

at idle i am seeing 18 lbs hg......under full load in first 16 lbs,2nd 17-18 lbs, 3rd 4rth & 5th 20 lbs all the way to redline no problem.....I wish there was a way that i could get more boost in first but, the first two gears go so fast it is hardly worth it.....since i mostly do highway punches from 60mph anyway.....not really into the hole stoplight drag thing.
