more intake pictures
today I finished shaving it with the drill
I used up the tool that was in the drill in yesterday's
pictures.
When i was done with that i sanded it like i said I would
I only sanded one arm thingy since I ran out of sand paper!
(and cause my arm was hurting)
I even did the under side
Now, see if you can geusse which arm is the one I sanded
this is gonna be so cool when I'm done.........

I was just searching for a comparasonof the top parts but i geusse I didnt take a picture of that.
well heres a closeup of what it did look like

Here's a different approach to dressing up the intake, this is powder coated in "chrome" and took about 3 hours. Your approach is more detailed and craftmanship always catches the eye....Bruce

I dont know about "craftmanship" as I'm not able to get in the deep canyons in bettween some of the arms and wheree the throttle body goes
mine will end up shiny but a whiter, duller look than chrome.

Make sure you do something so it stays looking like that... Anyone know if spraying something like clearcoat would do it?

Keep up the hard work. I would never even attempt that without power tools, but good work so far. With power tools it took me 12 hours+ to do th e intake to its condition below.

T1 & Michael... cost? I haven't done this powder coating a whole lot but I'm thinking $60 in labor and probably another $10 in paint. Shipping is usually the show stopper so find someone close. I did most of the clean-up work with a #120 flapper disk, that is about 80% of the work. You might get a break by doing that yourself. Aluminum dust everywhere!
If you do go for this sort of thing, get your miscellaneous brackets, throttle body etc done in the deal too.
And yes, I've done enough aluminum polishing to respect Campeck's method as much more difficult.

Oh, one other trivial note that I've tried only once (I got this one from the fishing lure guys).... for your small parts (nuts & bolts), warm them with a heat gun and dip them into the paint powder (keep it thin to win), then hold them with pliers and heat more to get the gloss. Its a little slow and not quite as durable but cheap. Might be worth exploring.
