how to get low end power before turbo kicks in?

anybody actually have an s2 tranny on their 951? how does it feel and what experiences have you had with it? i might be able to get one because the tranny is about to be replaced and the shop is looking for a good tranny for it, so i might tell them to find an s2 tranny? what do you guys think?
