Nope, needed the Tip for my wife and daughter to drive......

BTW, with all the cheap 97 Boxsters on the market, the 968's Cab prices are bound to suffer a bit unless someone is looking for one specifically. I mean $16-17K US for 6 cyl ragtops are popping up all the time now.

Good price, nice car.

On the possible need for a front seal, it is very common for the power steering reserviour to drip fluid from the hoses on the bottom. The hoses are attached with clamps that loosen over time. It might be worth checking those clamps to see if there is fluid leakage under the hoses and if tightening the clamps can stop the dripping.

I found power steering fluid leaking on mine a few weaks ago, tighened the clamps and no drips since.

As a point of reference I purchased a 94 968 Cab 6Spd Mid Blue / Cashmere with 53k miles and needing a T-Belt change for $20k in May, had your Dads car been available then I would have gladly paid the $2.5k extra for the lower mileage and completed T-Belt service.

RE the Boxster discussion. There are so many Boxters out there that I believe their value will continue to drop quickly as it has done so far. Over at 968.net we have been seeming some purchase prices going up. I dont think its happened yet, but at some point the limited supply of the 968 is likely to send prices going up. It is a beautiful, desireable, affordable Porshce. Many current owners are unlikely to sell cheap and as the numbers continue to decrease and the owners become collectors I hope the prices will go up.

There were more Ferrari 355s produced than 968s!

Those are some of the very good reasons why I bought one! .... now if I can only find a willing seller for a F355 in a similar relative price range...

Only thing I would do to the U.S. spec 968 cabs is retrofit the 2+2 seating. IMHO the straight two-seater a la Boxster configuration is too much of a sacrifice in practicality from the 968 coupe.

Funny thing Luis, we all want what we cannot have sometimes - I sourced and bought the locking cubbies piece just to increase the "out of sight" storage in the 968Cab! Yep, mine came with the rear seats! But instead of removing the seats to install the parcel shelf, I think I'll just extend the 2 brackets (sheet metal) that bolt the parcel shelf to the outboard mounting points for the existing seatbelts. Will not look 100% correct, but will serve the purpose of secure out of sight storage!

Yep, conversely IIRC Damian wanted the emergency seating space, cramped as it may be, and did the 2+2 retrofit.

So, I take it the Canadian cars were Euro spec?

Yes, I saw Damien's post on 968.net and here on Rennlist. Not sure about Euro spec however, most likely still USA spec if they follow the previous cars. I think the 1992 cars came to NA with the rear seats from what I have heard. But I was able to pick up a parcel shelf for $60 on eBay, so I could not pass that up as the Dealer price is - are you ready - >$5,000 list for that thing!
