Automatic Flywheel to Damper Alignment
Reinstalling my engine in '87 924S and forgot to mark alignment of automatic flywheel to the damper/starter ring gear. There is a little notch on edge of damper/ring gear and 3 lines etched into the flyweel. 1 is on the side closest to engine and 2 closer to where damper bolts to flywheel. Does one of these lines have to align with the notch in the damper/ring gear?
Thanks

line closer to engine

Bob, while I don't know the answer to your question, you may get a better response if you post this question in the "924/931/944/951/968" general forum.
By the way, since you are a brand new user, it would probably help your cause if you provide a brief introduction and a few photos of your car...

There are 3 dowel pins on the damper and 3 holes in the flywheel that are evenly-spaced from each other. That's why I wasn't sure, but now I see which one it is based on process of elimination using the factory manual. The other two flywheel marks have to do with TDC alignment. Thanks.
