Just joined Rennlist. I've got an '88 924S that I'm autocrossing. Chipped, lowering springs, Koni sports, throttle cam, racing seats and harnesses. I've put some sticky 15" Falken Azenza's on it and it rocks!
Here's a photo before the racing gear...

1988 924S bought new
I bought my '88 Silver 924S new from a dealer in Texas where I lived but it was located in Provo Utah so I flew up and drove it home. Beautiful scenery from Moab to Ouray and Durango. Northern New Mexico was a little slippery as it had snowed overnite as I slept in Durango. I've kept it mostly stock with just a few changes such as front shock strut brace, K&N air filter and braided stainless teflon brake lines. One regret is putting in urethane suspension bushings in the front that squeak, they did tighten up the suspension though.
I am putting new "rubber" fuel hose on the lines in the engine bay as the originals are 23 years old though they don't look bad (58,200 miles). The machine has been great to me and only once left me stranded with a bad fuel pump/DME relay (I now carry a spare). Once I limped home from Mt Rainier then to the dealer service dept. when the rubber center of the clutch ripped; it was still drivable but painful and expensive to fix. It is a blast on twisty mountain roads with a strong pull on acceleration, powerful brakes and it holds the road like it was on rails. Now I live in Southern Washington near Portland, OR. I periodically think of selling but haven't yet.
