Using 944 suspension parts for 924S
I'm planning on rebuilding my '87 924S tired suspension and want to know if I can use 944/Turbo struts (such as M474 option koni) as straight bolt on? I know the 924S uses steel control arms and the 944 Turbo uses aluminum so want to know if the struts will work on the older style steel control arms.
Also, if anyone has advice on a suspension package that would work well on a DE(first)/Street (sometimes) set up. Assuming I can use the 944 series M474 or similar, I would go with those and 250# springs, either Turbo or 968 M030 sways, and rear coil overs. I don't want to change the rear torsion bars so any advice on a coil-over rear shock with helper spring would be appreciated.

Todd, you can fit the Turbo sealed struts but not without modding the spindle on your car to make it happen. I agree with just replacing the front inserts and rear shocks with either Koni or Bilstein.

I'm currently researching the same for an 87S I picked up. Deciding between Koni and Bilstein. Anyone have experience with the 18mm bar creating too much over steer? I read that in a few posts. 14mm seems to come up allot when matching to the existing front, which I believe is 21 or 22.
+ 1 For Paragon. I have used them before and plan to again once I have a solid plan.

Good question.
So, if I understand this correctly - for the 924S body, I can bolt on the engine crossmember from a late model 944 and then bolt on the control arms? If so, will the rest of the front suspension item simply bolt up as well?
Same line of thinking goes for the rear suspension...

To answer your question...depends, on the rest of your suspension and whether or not your car is a track/lightweight or a street/stock weight. The factory fitted a 24 mm/18 mm combination on the '86 turbo...and in that car/configuration, the 18 mm bar does not create too much over steer. In fact, depending on speed and corner, barring any trail braking, that chassis still has a tendency to push/under steer.
