Hey Steve, any idea if even at 70k, that's a record for a 914-6? I haven't seen any sell for that much. A great car though!!!!

I see you have Sunbeam Tiger listed in your "future". Those are beautiful cars! A few weeks ago I saw one in a local parking lot, mint condition.

Wheel and tire info on your car? Looks great, and Irish is hard to beat!

To the OP: I've seen top, super original 914-6s go for well over $70k—and that was several years ago. 2009, I believe. I've seen a couple of six-figure asks for regular street cars lately, but can't confirm any sales at that number. The 914-6 has been tied to (sometimes higher, sometimes lower, but usually not far off) the 911T in terms of market prices since they were new cars. One is rare and interesting, the other is the "right" shape. Prices for the best 911Ts right now are an interesting marker, imho, but not a definitive one.

Is an original, stock 914-6 worth $70-100k? Not to me, but then I'm one of those who sees more value in a six conversion than a VIN plate—even though I respect those who view things the other way around.

Cuda, I have not clue on the record top price. I suspect it is right up there but I doubt 70k is the top. The one on eBay has stalled out at $70k. I think that happened when the seller posted the outrageous buy it now price. I think that made many of us realize that there was going to be no sale.

As for the Sunbeam tiger, I keep looking but you need to be careful with them also....rust problems and often faked. Someday I'll own one. right now, I need a 914.

Buy It Now price has been lowered in the auction to $79,995.

I didn't realize seller could change things after the auction was posted. So, he could force the sale if he wants, and lower the BIN to 70,100.

Auction is still stalled...

Yes, I've exchanged emails with the seller a few times. Seems like a nice guy. He's definitely trying to get it sold.....but also was willing to test the market to see just how high it could sell for. I suspect it won't sell unless he lets it go for $71-$72k and even that seems too high. I told him that I thought he stalled the bids when he put his BIN price in...any half-realistic buyer like myself opted out because his BIN was so outrageous.

The listing expired, so I guess 70K wasn't enough for the seller.

I think the auction was cancelled early because the car sold. I was in the bidding and received a note that the auction was cancelled. I suspect they sold it for $72k or so

Ah, ok, thanks. I was trying to find the final auction details and couldn't, so that explains it.
