why do the pictures i try and upload not show up when the reply is posted?
Use the landscape graphic button to add photos, not the paperclip. It will open a new window where you select the pictures you want to add and wait for each to upload to the server (% counts up until 100% and then it shows a small version of your picture). It usually gets stuck at 50% for a few seconds. If it doesn't make it to 100% and show the image, it won't work. After you have the images of all the photos in that window, you can move them around to change the sequence by dragging them. Then you have to hit the "UPLOAD" button in the top right corner. You then have to wait for them to load into your post before hitting the "SUBMIT" button. If you don't see them online in your post before submitting, they won't show up.
File size doesn't matter anymore with the current photo upload process as the server will scale down anything that's too large. I've uploaded up to 8MB photo files - it just takes longer.
Some pics of my 73 914 lined up for parade laps at Road Atlanta in April 1974. Note everyone drooling over the Brumos 911 RSR in the background. The sticker on rear window was popular during 1974 gas crisis.
The Marchal driving lights would burn the paint of cars ahead of me! (just kidding)
Those were the days!
Access to drivers back then was very open. Got to meet Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood.

Here's a few of my car. Not sure I ever posted anything in this thread...
I'm currently reconfiguring the car a bit to be more streetable while still track-focused, so that I can drive it more. Fortunately I have kept it registered with the DMV all along.
