I can't believe I stumbled on your post. I'm a huge 914 fan and last Saturday, someone at my CC group was showing pictures he took at Rennsport and showed me a picture of your car! I asked if he knew anything about it and he did not. I tried looking it up and to no avail. Just casually browsing today and found it!
Anyway, great job! I love the small car, big engine concept and the fact that you are using a monster Porsche engine makes it all the better. I also like the flared fender look on a 914 and will be curious to see how you handle the modified grill to accommodate the engine.
Now that I've said all this, I'll go back and read this thread in detail.

A brief update on our end with where we are, and what we've been up to.
We're currently dealing with brake fitment.
We had Cary at ERP custom machine us the front hats to extend the rotor outward / away from the lower ball joint for clearance. Now that that issue is behind us, we've centered everything up, and we'll be moving on to wheel measurement!

I re-checked the Haltech Elite 2500 ecu schematic to the '05 Cayenne TT schematic and realized that my coil pack grounding-point wires were way too long.
So I motivated myself to correct the issue ; then modify the custom ecu schematic (once more) for future referencing
A short 45 minute ride over to meet up with the owner/ founder Brian (in pic) of Sway-A-Way products. Discussed his brand of 4130 and 300M axels, sway bars, deep-plunging high-angle c/v joints, and left his place armed with knowledge!
Soon to have measurements back over to him for a set of their high performance 300Ms
As a testament to their QC, I've run their axels and sway bars for decades on our 914s, 930 and vw Doka...problem free.
While our axels are being made...I got back into the engine grill mfg. Here transferring some reference points for one of 2 of the new 16 ga. support plates. Once the Mesh pattern appears (red primer) on the metal plate...it's a basic pattern wherein I will drill multiple 1/8 " dia fastener holes.
This is the newly made bracket with fasteners attached (small grill to main grill), and the 3/4" square aluminum channel is for the secondary grill (as in the gt style lid) will attach to . This grill will be in 2 sections ; Left and Right, and Lift-off design...not hinged as stock. Everything will be coated in semi-gloss black
In order to connect first and second grills together via the 3/4" aluminum channel, I will utilize the existing "Prongs" found along the leading edge of each grill. These are just factory spot welded roof-nails...which is common fare from VW Factory "Less is more" frugal way to build cars at their Wolfsburg plant in the 1970's ! I discovered that by simply threading each prong to 3mm , simple bullet-proof attachment points can now be made by fastening a nylock nut in place through the alum channel .
...also fabricated a couple of items together from different suppliers into a Foldable rear Tow Loop, as I couldn't find an SCCA approved unit for the 914 from online sources...914 threaded rear tow insert is not similar to the 911 !
