Directions for taking out injectors
Where can I find the best step-by-step directions for taking the injectors out of my '73 1.7? Pictures are helpful too! Thanks - Jay

Jay:
Picture #1 is of the nut that secures the injector to the manifold.
Picture #2, do not try to undo these connections in the car - you will need stitches on some part of your body if you do.
Picture #3, disconnect the fuel lines from fixed objects; in this picture that would be the cold start injector, and the regulator. (I removed the regulator in this instance because I sent the sheet metal out for powder coating).
So, remove the two nuts/washers from the side you're working on, disconnect the fuel hoses where access is easiest, and pull both injectors away from the manifold, and on to your work bench. Then you can disconnect the injector hoses from the curved, metal fuel line.
NOTE: If you're replacing fuel hoses, if you loosen and move the clamp back on the hose, then use a single-edge razor blade to slice the hose open at its connection, from the hose end lengthwise back about an inch or two, removal will be 100x easier.

Hi Jay,
Removal and installation of the injectors is pretty easy. If you are removing both injectors on each side I would remove the flex fuel lines on each side of the metal fuel rail. Then all you need is a 10mm socket to remove the nut that secures the injector to the intake runners. Then you can wiggle the injectors loose from the intake. Now you have both injectors that are attached to the fuel rail that is now disconnected from the engine. You are now done.
