914/6 GT seat prices?
Would anyone venture a guess at a fair price for an original 914/6 GT seat in
restorable condition? The only anomaly I know is that it has a head restraint, which I understand is not found on the GT, though you can see the provision in the seat frame/structure for the posts of the head restraint so it might have been installed as an option. Either this seat will go to the new owner of my 914/6 or it will be sold separately, as soon as I can price it fairly. Here are some photos. Excuse the condition; it has been sitting in my garage for years.

I have not clue about what it should go for. I'm sure it's not cheap - there are a lot of people who want GT clones and not many orginal seats.

Some of those seats appear attractive, no doubt, though I'm not acquainted with their quality.
However, this seat is the real deal and an original Porsche part for authenticity.
Autos Intl. quoted me around $250 to restore it to like new condition using the original material. In person, I'll wager that the only loose seams in the vinyl could be re-sewn, the vinyl re-installed, and the shell cleaned. Personally, I'd opt for an Autos Intl. restoration.
The point is moot though as some interested parties have recognized the value of this vintage part which I personally hate to let go. Next to my 914 Scheel seat, this 914/6 GT seat is about 60% lighter. And frankly, better fitting for longer drives, as the Scheel seat hampers your shoulders unlike the GT seat. Porsche knew what they were doing with this part, like many of the other things that make a difference between Porsche and other makes. Just sit in both and decide. I did last night and a voice said not to keep the Scheel seat, and to keep the GT seat instead. But I also have 2 Koenig race seats for my living room so I don't nee d the GT seat. It belongs in a vintage 914/6 as it was designed to be used.

Getting established in Reno. I finally set up my computer yesterday. It was just too hard for me to surf the internet forums with my iPhone. I put the computer in the garage and I have to say I LIKE IT! I have a laptop in the house and of course my wife's 3? maybe 4 computers... But I like being right next to the car... I have an Audi A4 right behind me right now!

do you know which of their seats are perfect fits for the 914 back pads?

That isn't one of those seats from the AA "lost warehouse" is it? (I kid, I kid.)
I would value that seat, probably close to 1000 dollars, perhaps more if it were recovered. (Would I pay that? NO WAY! But someone a little looser with their purse strings might).
