Brad @ AA; Are You Out There...?
In fighting with my 1.8, I realize that I never followed up with the intake elbow, # 022 129 967 AA, shown on page 180 of your catalog. I ordered, from AA, a replacement elbow for my '74; but when I rec'd the new part it had different sized holes for the air hose connections. The new one turned out to be a '75 part.
When I called AA I was told that the '74 elbow was NLA, and the '75 will work fine. I asked the salesman (it was not you, Brad) for the fittings shown in the diagram, that would work in the '75 part. I was told they were NLA.
Because the hole sizes were so different I asked if either of the fittings incorporated a flow reducer. The salesman told me that he would check on that and get back to me. Time passed, I cobbled together some hose connections and hoses, and even tried the recommendation to check the plumbing dept at Home Depot (which I did and they had nothing even close to usable).
It just occurred to me, after finding/fixing the last known air leak, that I never learned (the promised call never came) if the large, or small, hose needs a reducer when a '75 elbow is fitted to a '74 car. I also have not learned what ID hose should be fitted at the two locations, and even if size matters. Please advise if you have a tech sheet for this issue, or if you can create a tech sheet for me, or maybe even if you might have a retrofit kit available.

I don't know of any retrofit kit, or a tech sheet. I will talk to George about the issue, and get back with you. I am not sure of the ins and outs of swapping the intake elbows, so I don't want to give you bad information.

I read through this thread... Just wanted to commend Brad as he and George helped me out recently w/some not so easy to source parts for my 914.
Thanks again Brad!
Thanks again Brad!

This is the answer from "the good doctor".
really stupid that Porsche replaced this part. We are working on conversion fittings but do not have them yet. We are also going to make a 74 style replacement boot. However for right now "cobble" is the word!!!!!
