It looks like they are doing a great job. Are there any other major rust areas that they are fixing? How's the rear trunk? Front trunk gasket channel?

Half an engine case on the stand, crank ready with new rod bearings and nuts, starting on the sheet metal, etc. Eldest son spent about 2 hours cleaning and polishing the transaxle...

New main bearings came- may try and start putting the case together this weekend after watching F1 qualifying... gotta take the front and rear valances to the shop so they can paint them with the new rockers... (can't believe I forgot to take them when I stopped by last time)
Lots of boxes have been showing up- FedEx and UPS know my address by heart- hope the wife isn't counting!!

Slow but sure- case back together this weekend (and the crank even turns!) P/C 's next, no more update on the bodywork or paint but should know something this week... will keep you crazies posted!

(will be on backburner for a while- gotta get the white one ready for DE at Road America Labor Day Weekend- taking it and my son's Cayman S for a little higher speed fun...)

Almost ready for paint- they say some newer pix are on the way. P/C's on, waiting for heads which are getting freshened by an old friend Porsche mechanic who is presently resetting a land speed record at Bonneville in a turbocharged 1957 Beetle (they have weird classes - this one is a 1200cc- he went 126 yesterday!! Already has the record at 111mph...and had a record for years back in the 60's in his Carrera Speedster- that is a story in itself)... he promised me he'd get them done when's back from the salt!
"New" 911 front suspension components ready for cleaning and painting...looking for a set of good 6-16 Fuchs...

I love seeing pics of restoration work. BTDT. Cutting, grinding, welding, more grinding, leveling, paint. Lots and lots of work.

If you bring the car to Vancouver I'll give you a hand putting it back together.

Cheers,

I want pix too! The guys doing the work are luckily much better with metal and paint work than with computers and downloading pix...
When I know something I'll update it here!! Definitely want to bring it home before the snow flies! Don't want to take the trailer out once they've salted the roads...
