Default Working on dad's 2.0. need some advice.

So, Dad was under his 914 the other day and noticed that the CV's had 6 holes but 4 bolts. Tried to put in new bolts to no avail. I went in to see about tapping the holes in there to see if I could get it to thread. well, long story short, I went to research CV removal, and it appears that the CV's on this car each have 4 bolts, and there is an empty hole for the remaining two. is this correct?

The other two holes are for pins and not for bolts. You should have 2 pins per axle flange and 4 bolts.

Hope that this helps.
