Default Miles per. year

How many miles per year do you put on your 914? If I had to guess I think I am going to be putting about 1,000 on mine this year.

Zero.

I did actually start tinkering with it over the weekend. I adapted an old Wevo gated shifter - I won't know if it really works until the engine is back together and the transmission is back in. But it looks cool, and moves really smooth!

I put 2K/year on the last one I had. The previous one, closer to 6K/year.

Did a bunch of running around in it the beginning of the year. Also did a bunch of little drives and stuff.

Lucky to put 750-1000 this year. Have a total of approx 115,000 on it as the angle drive gears have broken enough times the odometer shows a bit less. Took it on a vintage car tour across Iowa a few years ago and put over 500 on it in one week and it rain great- on that tour was the first time it had seen rain for maybe 10 years.
My boys (23 and 26) love driving it and it's a good thing as they'll get it when I'm gone- it ain't leaving the family!!

BTW, I have the original houndstooth seat inserts- are those OEM 918?? (the checkerboard pattern looks bigger than mine...)

If my car ever sees the rain it will turn pink and take me 3 hours of polishing to get the car back to Bahia Red. There is a rally this weekend I am attending and it is supposed to rain and I am planning on doing it in the Volvo sadly.

So far this year I think we've put over 5000 miles on Huey, maybe more but the odo stopped working somewhere in a past life...
but to date, trips have been (not including running around town, local stuff, back and forth to mechanic, etc):
- Spring Think btwn Chattanooga and Knoxville, and all the drives with that.
- Down to Road Atlanta twice - once for Petit LeMans
- Porschefest in Asheville
- Anniv party in Charleston
- To NJ once
- Hurricane REgion wine tour through all of Northern NC
- Down to Barber MSP in Birmingham for Rolex Grand Am race
- up to Johnson City, TN to visit Wilderness Trail region
- Northern Georgia for Peachstate Rennfest
- numerous autocrosses, 2 Autofairs at Lowes MSP, and other things I can't think of.

And technically, it's fully PCA and HSR race legal. A bit stiff and tough to get in and out, but fun to drive nonetheles.
