I am interested, but that is actually John Dunkle's old car. Different roll bar? Did that......did Martin Baker actually get out of jail or does some else now own that car?

 

If he did jail time at all he wouldn't have done much. We have no room in California jails. The first car showed up at a local event called EuroSunday last month. I wasn't there but someone sent me a picture. I figure it has to be the GT Clone project car. The second was posted on 914World by someone calling himself SONAUTO GT who is looking for French taillight lenses. I suspect that is Mr. Baker sneaking in the back way since he kind of burned bridges at World and is totally non grata at Club. It looks like him and Alison in the second pic. The person who sent me the pics renamed them. Not me...

 

Someone who is knowledgable tells me that the second pic is probably the original car. He says the first pic lacks 11" rear flares. Still, it turned out nice.

 

I agree, the 2nd car looks to have much bigger flares.

 

And the second car has the French Tails... Some guy has responded on the World ad that a set of the French tails went for $800 on Ebay recently and another guy responded that he had some and how much would he like to pay...

My guess is he will make a deal that involves him getting the taillights, moving into the guys house for 5 months rent free, spreading worthless 914 parts over 1/4 acre and leaving them there when he moves out, being totally ungrateful for the free rent and badmouthing the guy every chance he gets. At least that is how he treated me. I'm still throwing out those damned parts.

 

WOW! He is a piece of work.

 

It's hard to compare the flares from those 2 totally different angles but I have to ask, being a midwesterner who doesn't get to all your neat California get-togethers, who is this Baker fellow?? Glad he doesn't live out this way... BTW, neat car or cars as the case may be!

 

Yeah, I want to know what the story is, too.

 

I would share, but I don't want Martin calling me 23 times in 8 minutes and leaving threatening messages on my cell again like he did. The guy is a NUT!

 

Called me about 8:15PM tonight, I was with a patient so I didn't answer but the message is classic Martin Baker. Very threatening. Your lucky you live all the way across the country Jay...

 

I guess I'm lucky he doesn't call me, becuase I wouldn't be as patient as you guys. The guy is a wack job. He's mad a Jay becuase he didn't due his own due diligence and didn't pay attention to what Jay told him when he bought the car.

Now he apparently just like calling people 28 times in under a half hour and leave crazy messages.
