Cleaning it!!!! I am trying to get it ready for the Charlotte Parade Concour and I have a lot of work to do before it is done. I have been enjoying driving it so much I have been putting off the cleaning.

What is your goal? AX or the DE or both?

Either way I will be looking forward to seeing that go. What do you run in it for a 6?

that is a very good question. right now, our goal is to make it run, then worry about it after that.

Someday, we will do Targa again. For now, it's just "get it together for Parade", eventually, a decent AX/street/show/HSR/whatever. Meaning it won't be good for anything in particular, but fun to have nonetheless.
But as i said, for now, just get it running for Parade....I have sponsors counting on me!

It will have a 2.5 liter 6, the one from the other 914 race car we bought - and are selling everything except the engine and trans.

well, lots of progress. oil lines and front oil cooler installed, all gaskets installed, battery tray in front installed, trailing arms/shocks in.

Still left; engine, trans, oil tank (914-6 fender type - holes cut but not exactly correct), misc guages, seats, harnesses....then we have to make it run!

This week:
Finish cleaning and polishing to a high sheen or something.
Install carpet
Clean every interior item I have painfully managed to put together from junk cars (almost no cracks yay)
Install interior
Dash face material install
Dash top vinyl and foam install
Attach various trim items
More lighting and electrical

That's it for this week

When not on vacation, I've been tracking down an oil leak. Seems like I found the problem. Fautly seal on the adaptor plate for the aux front oil cooler lines. Need to find a new seal and/or a new adaptor plate.

A 2 day SCCA AX at Packwood, WA.
A few minor changes from last year....rebuilt the motor & added a TB LSD, but it looks the same.

Well? no projects for anyone?

I mentioned I found the source of my leak.. Question is, since I can't find a replacement seal and don't know the brand of adaptor used 15 years ago, are there any preferences for brand/style/features in a sandwich plate/adaptor?

Considering the simplicity of an adaptor I don't think you can go terribly wrong.

My project include the interior carpeting. Glue is fun.

Default Finish my 951 so I can do something on my 914/6.

Tomarrow I plan on rebuilding my torque tube, and build my 951's engine so that I can get it back together. Then I can finish my main project. The 914/6!!

I still cant decide which engine to go with. A 996/997 or a 993. I would love to see one that has a 996 motor in it. Has any one out there done this conversion???

996/997 would be one big project with the whole cooling aspect.
Was this an original six, or are you doing a conversion?
I know a 964 3.6 has been done before.
