Check out this 914!
I know its not a "true" 914...much like the 944 V8s that I see over in our forums, but still thought it was a pretty neat idea that someone actually made! The quality of the work looks good, but I'm not familiar with the 914s so I really don't know. Anyways, just thought you guys might like it or at least get a kick out of it!

Burning Brakes
scary car. Lets throw 400 hp into an unstiffened chasis with skinny tires and stock brakes. Oh wait he is going to throw on some m-caliper front 911 brakes that are essentially the same. Never ceases to amaze me that people engineer about 1/4 of the systems needed to be addressed. In this case the chasis, suspension, and brakes are all left the same (ok he threw a new set of KYB shocks on the car which suck and some 220 lb springs so the car doesnt sag too much). Love the radiator lines running right under the pan. Good luck going over any bumps at all ;-)
Thanks for posting it up here though! Interesting to see what is out there.

Haha...told ya I don't know 914s very well! Very interesting idea tho. I wonder how much heat soak those turbos get! And at least I DID think "man...those tires are pretty skinny for a twin turbo V8..." I would really like a clean, restored 914! My aunt has a really nice red one!

+1. Waste of time/money. Will give the trans/clutch about 15 minutes.

I agree with Jimbo. That is, IF it lasts long enough to not wrap itself around a pole with those 220 lb rear springs. My car with 200 lb rear springs is like a sneeze away from spinning during a quick lane change. Spooky.

Classic stuff! I would like to drive it though at a drag strip, but it is NOTHING I would want to own. When I see a car like that I bet a person would spend more time under it working on it then actually driving it! The best part of Porsche ownership in my opinion is driving them anyway. It SUCKS when they are broken.
