Red face Brake light,& charging problem 73 1.7L

I have two problems today. I bought the car with both problems. The Alternator won't keep up with the headlights. 200 miles with lights on and the car won't start. The voltmeter on battery posts shows 13vdc +-.2 when charged, sometimes more. Battery is newer, do I need to try the voltage reg, then rebuild the Bosch Alt?

Unrelated, the left rear brakelight does not come on, but the left front turn signal comes on instead. Any ideas where to look for the crossed wires? Seller says, I dunno!

I need new weatherstripping at the rear of side windows. Best source?

well, I can't help you with the alternator. Maybe it's time for a new one?

The brake ligt problem. On my 74 when I hae the car off, and use the turn signle the side will not flash just both ends will be on. (kinda of a parling light on one side) So maybe your problem lies in the switch, or maybe down by the relay board and fuse box above the pedal area. You might have a short. Or something. If you open the trunk in the rear, by your lights, there are the wires connecting the brake light to the switch up front, though I doubt the problem comes from there.
