Question Rear View Mirror Placement Question

Just recently purchased a 914. The last owner had just put in a new windshield but failed to install the rear view mirror. Can someone please measure how far down it needs to be mounted from the top of the windshield? Appreciate the assistance.

Steve

Mine is about 4 inches to the center of the mirror adhesive, but i would place it to where you could see the best out of, i have noticed that I cant see very well out of it because its to high on the windsheld, maybe its cause im almost 6', but im thinking that if i position it lower i could see more of the "taller" trafic behind me, just a thought....

Take a magic marker and place a mark about 3 inches down from the center on the outside of the windshield. The center of the winshield is the middle of the polished aluminum connector piece for the windshield trim. With the spot maked on the outside of the windshied, attach the mirror backing plate using the magic marker spot as a guide...
