Ed Villela or EVILL on this forum.
You have to see that car in person! It will most likely be at the 2002 East Coast Ramble, yes ED?

That's my 914. There is alot of time and money in that 914. I built it myself. Spent lots of time researching and designing and then fabricating.

It should be at the ECR 2002.

Ed:
Your car is so well done that I can't bring my self to engage in the "normal" 4 vs 6 trash talkin'.....that's depressing. I won't be switching over any time soon, however.

Evill ED, i read that article and all i can say is you could make some money marketing that conversion as a kit if you had the will or resources. Also congrats on a beatiful car.

Evill Ed, I read the Excellence article last Thursday and I was very impressed with your car. On Friday morning while en route to Holy Name Hospital I heard and saw what had to be your car near The Glennpoint Hotel. It sounded very nice and looked sweet. I was at a red light heading west towards Teaneck Rd.. I have since been looking for a nice 914 to make mine. See what you started. Just kidding. If that was you, it was sure sweet.

Lou951, that was me. I've been driving it quite a bit lately. I just finished installing the new 2.0L engine, with a 944 K26 turbo, that I built over the winter. this baby rocks!! I'm trying to get some break in mile before I go to the TrakQuest Watkins Glen event next week.

regards,

Evil Ed,

I was completely blown away when I read about your '73 in excellence. Congrats on all the hard work and I think it is neat you chose the car with sentimental value even though it required more hard work.

i am sure it has paid off

Ed,
I was also quite impressed with the ingenuity of your turboed 914.
I would be interested to see more pictures of the engine bay and would really like to see it in person!

Ed,
Forgive me for asking, but what Hp do you think you have and at what boost?? I am looking at doing the same as you, but would like some feedback on performance.

I live in an area where sandrails and sand drags are very popular. Most all run type I engines. My co-worker holds a national title for the type I sand drags. Her, yes HER, car is a turbo nos set-up close to 500 Hp. I can only guess what that would be like in a 914..

Thanks,
jk

There is nothing I mean nothing "nice" about Ed's car. Now beautifil is more accurate a description! I have had the pleasure of riding in Ed's car and can only say WOW! Ed when I'm done playing 944 and boat guy I'm gonna need help from you setting up my own turbo.

Outstanding!
