sputtering noise from engine
A few days ago my friend's 2L 914 had all the seals in the engine replaced because it was leaking. Now it makes a kind of a sputter sound when reved over 1000 rpms and doesn't accelerate very quickly. It still has the original fuel injection. Any advice greatly appreciated.

A few thoughts.
* You may have a loose head. Were the heads torqued?
* You may have a exhaust leak. If you put the car on jack stands and start it, you should be able to locate where the sputtering sound is coming from.
