ANthony I know how you feel. I get on the road and tell myself to take it easy! then I pass someone then another and I am doing 90. then a couple more passes and I am doing 100 (out here in the lonely desert) and I start
wathcing my V1, then 110. It takes alot of self restraint to get back to within 10 mph of the speedlimit. but someone is always trying to get you to go. some one passes you and cuts over quickly like "my car is faster than yours!!" or they get right on your a$$ and dont pass, its hard somethimes.

Couldn't have said it better myself. My wife thinks it's funny how people react, she calls it Porsche envy.

It is difficult to go slow when these cars are more comfortable over 100mph. Once you pass a few road hogs and start to feel how much smoother the car is at those higher speeds it is very difficult to drop back down to the speed limit again. Even with the V1, you still need that license, so self control is a must no matter how painful.

You may also want to contact Otto at Otto's Venice Porsche. He does work on a variety of 914's including his 350 hp monster that holds the track record at Streets of Willow. He may know of a car that he or someone else has tricked out and is looking to sell.

Hello OG,

I found a complete restored chassis for Euros 599.

http://www.mobile.de/SIDsKgdaJsjRxBn...9407007&top=1&

Including shipping, you should be under $1000. Then unless you do it all yourself, you could be in for some major moolah. Why not?
