Want to know source(s)where I can purchase 4 new shaved 205/60/15 tires for occasional vintage racing events. Had BFG Comp TA's and have been told a lot of tire makers no longer make a competition tire in that size. If no competition tires available, best alternative tire? Thanks.

I used to use this size tire on my '69 911E. I can no longer find anyone who makes a DOT rated track tire in this size. I have called all of the big suppliers, Tirerack, Discount Tire, etc. I did see a web posting (at Pelican Parts message board) regarding the availability of new Yokohama A008's
in this size. I never followed that lead up.

you may want to consider 205-50-15's.
They will lower the car and shorten the ratios considerably. Unless you really have a lot of hp I think you'll find they work pretty well. I've been using them for autocross and very occasional track for years. Seem to work pretty well. They will fit on stock 5.5" wide rims, but they work a lot better on a 6.5" or 7". Revolution used to make a nice 6.5" rim for the 914. You can still find them used. Good luck.
