Default Bought me a new car today!!

But dont pick on me now.....

I bought me a 914 converted to V8 with a Chevy 350!
I havent tryied it yet but as soon as the snow is gone Im going to leave a report!!!
Its dyno to 238 HP on the rear wheels and with only 1061kg it could be really funny!
And with a 350 engine its so cheap to buy horsepower!!

The weak link is typically the transmission the original 901 box has 1 st gear supported on only one side ........ one good 1 st gear launch can break the box ........ Even with an updated 915 box the trans is weak . So if you add much power it will be fast .......for a short time . Should be a fun car , check out the rear suspension mounts right side especially they tend to rust away and the bolt holes get elongated .

A friend of mine had one and loved it. He said the engine was remarkably easy to bolt in. He sold it a year ago or so to a certain Olympic skeleton gold-medal winner...

He didn't mention any transmission issues but said it was incredibly fun to drive. He might have adapted a Chevy tranny for all I know. I'll have to ask him some more questions.

He sold it so he could build himself a hot rod- a bathtub w/ a 400hp motor.

You've got some really, really cool stuff EvilEvo!

*Fiat 20 valve turbo coupe
*A 928 about to receive nitrous
*A 914 with a chevy 350
*Mitsu Evo6
*Classic Mustang
*Lincoln Navigator

-Sounds like a regular dream garage! You could be on TV with that assortment!

Now...how about posting a few pix?

When you post a reply, lower on the page there is a "browse" button. Find your way to your pic files and simply click on them. I suggest using Photoshop to reduce them down to 600 pixels on a side, otherwise Vbulletin won't post them. They have to be less than 100k files.

That 914 would be a great car to drive the snot out of. Who cares if you blow it up, I assume you didn't pay that much for it. That HP will push that little car real well, no doubt about it. Where is George 911 V8 when we need him?
